Season 3 - Episode 6 "Earle"

After arriving in Appalachia, the Brotherhood of Steel tried to make sense of the chaos engulfing the region.  With the discovery of the PACT and the detonation of a nuclear weapon at the Nuka Cola Plant, Knight Shin heads south to investigate the Whitespring, at the Overseer’s urging, leaving Fort Atlas vulnerable. Little do they know that a traitor has infiltrated their ranks…and war descends upon them. Major Stein begins to confront his own demons, deep within his subconscious, while Vinny Costas has plans for the future of the Blue Ridge Caravan. Red and Cherry continue their quest to free Antlers, Amanda and Cindy attempt to persuade Rose the RaiderBot to help their cause, while Jones and Abbie head back into the Mire. And the remnants of the New Enclave are reunited at Riverside Manor…with an eye towards the Whitespring, and a daring rescue attempt. The fate of Appalachia hangs in the balance.

Greetings, members, as always I am the Operative, your designated host and tour guide here at the Whitespring. We know you love our world and its story, but today, we thought we would… fool around, if you will. There are many what-ifs and different scenarios across the multiverse to experience.  Today, we take a look at one of those worlds where things are a little different than you’re used to. A world we don’t need to cross an ocean, or eleven, to get to. Today, we visit the world of: Stein’s Nine.

An alliance between MODUS and the PACT is now a reality and Project ONI moves ever closer to completion. Colonel Valeria spends her days locked in a cell, while the scattered remnants of the New Enclave and the factions of Appalachia struggle against the rising threats. But even as the odds against them grow by the day, our survivors begin to reconnect and uncover vital clues and new information which may yet help turn the tide. However, MODUS isn’t finished with his own plans for Appalachia…not by a long shot…and his next move will strike fear into the heart of the region’s survivors and shake the foundations of everything they’d built.

The Colonel, bloody and battered, returns to the Whitespring, discovering that MODUS has indeed been busy during her long absence with plans of his own. While Stein arrives at the PACT as MODUS’ representative…to negotiate an alliance and a place in the new future they plan to bring about, only to find himself confronted with his own past. Deep in the Savage Divide, Trader Red and her companions continue their trek south, but little do they realize that a wolf in sheep’s clothing walks beside them…and what dangers now await them. And across Appalachia, separate factions begin to gather their resources and take actions of their own against a growing storm. Against growing odds, the region prepares for war.

The revelations of the PACT have changed everything we thought we knew about Appalachia. Each faction has a piece of the puzzle, but they remain scattered and without a means to coordinate. Defeat may be inevitable, but the human spirit still endures and hope remains. Throughout the years, the history of Monongah has been one of hopes and tragedies. Earle Williams had never forgotten the promise of wealth, nor his desire to return home to Monongah someday. After convincing a group of like-minded members of Foundation, Earle would lead them into the depths of the mine in search of their fortune…and instead, they would find themselves victims of horrifying experimentation. Team Cryptid follows in Earle’s footsteps and soon discovers there are some secrets that should stay buried.

The ground beneath our feet is shifting. Just who are the PACT and why do they want the Colonel? In a forgotten Vault, Valeria will discover a grand conspiracy which has guided the course of human history for decades, pitting nations against each other to achieve their own ends. The greatest threat to humanity stands revealed and the Colonel will face the hardest decision of her young life.  The final stories of Appalachia are being told…and war, war never changes.

The pieces are moving across the chessboard that is Appalachia. The Brotherhood of Steel and the Overseer may be putting themselves on a collision course with the Whitespring, without understanding the true threats facing them all. The Colonel must lead her band of survivors back to the Whitespring, putting their lives in the hands of their new allies, the Mole Miners… but now she walks a treacherous path with an uncertain future. Team Cryptid finds itself facing an even greater danger deep within the mines of Monongah, while the residents of Vault Town discover unlikely allies on their doorstep. While Trader Red and her companions continue their hike south, hunters are now hot on the trail of the rarest cryptid… but who is the predator and who is the prey?

Isolated from the Whitespring, the Colonel faces difficult choices and few options as her world has been turned upside down. Vinny Costas sets his sights on Appalachia’s rarest Cryptid, while Lilith and Shadow cross swords… an unstoppable force meeting the immovable object, over the fate of our star-crossed Astronaut. Team Cryptid descends into the depths of the Monongah Mine, not knowing what horrors they might find lurking in the darkness. And Trader Red comes face to face with the Cult of the Mothman. The final tales of post-war Appalachia are just beginning to be told and our characters have hard roads ahead.
