When we last left Justin & Selena, they were not talking. Or talking? It’s so hard to keep up! Anyway, now it’s 2014. Justin’s deep in his party phase, and Selena has just pulled the plug on the end of her tour after being diagnosed with Lupus.
Over the next four years, the amount of drama that would transpire would give anyone whiplash. We’re going month by month to piece together their on-and-off situationship, marked by Justin’s constant fuckboy behavior and Selena’s health struggles in the height of mega-fame. The episode is stacked with an ensemble cast of recurring characters, including Hailey Baldwin, the KarJenners, The Weeknd, a revolving door of models, and more.
From the outside, it’s easy to judge and call their story messy. But at its core, it’s a familiar cycle most of us recognize from our younger years. We have all had that friend who kept going back to the ex who treated them terribly….or maybe we’ve been that friend ourselves. Why do some relationships make us override all sense of reason and logic and bring out the worst in ourselves? Why is it sometimes so hard to walk away when we know better? And what does it take to finally let go for good?
