Well, that was ugly. The New York Mets were absolutely embarrassed by the Philadelphia Phillies in a 15-3 loss on Saturday night.  With Cristopher Sanchez on the mound for the Phillies, it was going to be an uphill battle but the Mets never really gave themselves a chance in this one. They did about everything you couldn't do when facing one of the best pitchers in the sport.  A poor start from Freddy Peralta? Check. Sloppy defense? Check. Not cashing in when they did have chances? A 3-run 7th inning put the New York Mets in front, and they held on to beat the Philadelphia Phillies in the first meeting of the season between the two teams.  It was Eric Wagaman as a pinch hitter, who gave the Mets a 4-3 lead after a two-out RBI. Marcus Semien followed that up with a two-run triple to make it 6-3.  Sean Manaea made his second start off the season and did exactly what the Mets need their starters to do right now: keep them in the game. Kodai Senga allowed four runs in the first inning and the New York Mets left another 11 men on-base in a 5-3 loss to the Cincinnati Reds.  Well, Senga's return to the rotation got off to a rocky start. He walked the first two batters of the game, and then allowed a 3-run home run. Another homer made it 4-0 by the time the inning was over. He was able to settle down after that and get through four innings, but his lengthy first inning all but confirmed it was going to be short outing for the right-hander.  The bats once again had their chances.
