Influencers, celebs and mega coaches are often treated as mythical Gods. We think they’re untouchable, immune to the suffering life brings, and have zero worries in the world.
We think they don’t deal with the “everyday” things we do — paying an extra $25 on DoorDash for a 14 inch pizza that costs $18 or feeling insecure when their crush ghosts them on Date 3.
When we put them on pedestals, we dehumanize them. In the same vein, we make ourselves small. The automatic comparison and projection prompts self-doubt, imposter syndrome, and keeps us stuck in a constant cycle of feeling inspired, then comparing, sabotaging or worse, staying stuck and never trying at all.
