E88: The Founding Story of Locum’s Nest - Dr Nicholas Andreou (Co-Founder)
In this week’s episode we are joined by Nick who shares with us his story from the very beginning. We hear the story behind Locum’s Nest and the challenges they faced in order to become the leading mobile app connecting doctors to locum work in hospitals. Nick shares a brief insight into his passion and journey to medicine. He shares the life of locum doctors before his app came to market. We spend some time discussing the importance of technology and why superior design is key for the future of healthcare. Nick also shares why he loves his role at the company and the variety of work he does on a week to week basis.

Dr Nicholas Andreou gained his medical qualifications at Imperial College School of Medicine and Business School where in addition to his medical studies also studied Healthcare Management. In between his shifts at the Emergency Department he taught himself product design and developed the blueprints for the Locum's Nest app. Apart from his day-to-day activities as Locum's Nest's Co-Founder he sub-specialises in managing Locum's Nest's entire suite of products, from strategic direction to product development, activities which have earned Locum's Nest awards such as Major Innovation of the Year and Productivity app of the year.
