Superintendent Baesler addresses loss at GOP State Convention

05/06/24: A jury found ND Rep. Jason Dockter guilty of violating a conflict-of-interest law after a 10-hour trial on Friday. The case regarded Rep. Jason Dockter’s involvement in the lease of a Bismarck building to Attorney General Stenehjem's Office and the North Dakota Department of Health and his subsequent votes on agency budgets. The jury took about 90 minutes to deliberate after hearing several hours of testimony from state officials. 05/06/24: The current McLean County State's Attorney is Ladd R Erickson of Washburn. He was first elected to the four year position in 2002 and was re-elected in 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, and 2022. State’s Attorney Erickson charged Rep. Jason Dockter, a Bismarck Republican, in December with a crime alleging the lawmaker broke a state law for voting on legislation he had a financial interest in. On Friday, a jury found Dockter guilty of the misdemeanor charge.
