Her mother, a former opera singer, became her first vocal coach, helping Syd channel that chaos into art. By 11, she was writing songs, and by her teens was performing anywhere that had a mic. After studying music business and releasing her debut EP, "Everything I Couldn't Say," Syd found her voice as both a singer and songwriter.
