My guest today is Jeff Karp, a Canadian biomedical engineer working as a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women's Hospital, and the principal faculty at the Harvard Stem Cell Institute and Affiliate Faculty at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology through the Harvard–MIT Division of Health Sciences and Technology. In 2008, he was listed as one of the top innovators. In 2011, he received Young Investigator award from the Society for Biomaterials, and the Champion in Health Care Innovation. He shared the 2009 Nobel Prize in Chemistry with Thomas Steitz and Ada Yonath for research on the structure and function of ribosomes.
