How DHS Education Provides Mitigation Measures Against Active Assailants
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is the newest agency under the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) umbrella, leading the effort to improve and maintain the highest level of security when it comes to protecting our nation’s cyber assets, but just as importantly, our communications infrastructure.
In emergency situations, this can include the effective response and communication channels during events like an active shooter threat. ClearanceJobs had a conversation Daniel Rivera, the Deputy Branch Chief of Active Assailant Security at CISA. Rivera has almost a decade of experience at the agency in providing the critical infrastructure community with information regarding terrorist attacks, other extremist actors like active shooters, mitigating factors, and preventive education.
