Two imperfect moms sharing stories, experiences, and the hope we have in Christ as we raise daughters in today's fast-paced, ever-changing culture.
Ep 27: Trusting Our Responsive God
21:49Dear Girl Mom, When our girls were younger, we were attentive to their every need. We knew what they needed, often before they did, and we responded accordingly! With every fever, broken heart, or challenging homework assignment, we were right by their side. This is exactly how our loving, responsive God cares for our needs and the needs of our daughters! He knows their hearts and innermost thoughts. We can trust Him to be responsive, providing for their needs in His perfect way and perfect timing. We are so glad you’re joining us for today’s conversation! Love, Nicole & Stacy
Ep 26: Hope Found in God's Word
37:13Dear Girl Mom, Welcome to our third season of Dear Girl Mom! We are excited to be ramping up again after our summer break! We are also eager to be back in touch with our Girl (and boy!) Mom community! Although our summer break has been rich and filled with many fond memories, Nicole and I are very mindful of how difficult and broken our world is. Life can quite simply be just plain hard. As we each struggle with our own areas of challenges and brokenness, we find the need to continually point each other back to Jesus, our true hope and anchor of the soul (Hebrews 6:19). As you wrestle with areas of hurt, doubt, and/or anxiety, there is no doubt that a gentle reminder over how Jesus walks with us, talks with us, and is always there for us could be just the fresh breath of air you need at this very moment. Allow us to spend some time together encouraging you as we each seek to fix our eyes on Jesus and allow Him to be the balm over all areas of our great need. We are so excited you are here with us today. Love, Stacy & Nicole A Small Book About Why We Hide by Edward T. Ep 25: Stepping Into Summer
31:56Dear Girl Mom, It’s hard to believe that summer is almost here! As we get ready to share this final episode of Season 2, we hope you’ll enjoy hearing about some of our favorite things to launch the summer season! No matter what your plans are for the summer, we hope this episode is a fun distraction from the craziness of May and the end of the school year. As always, we’re SO glad you’re here! Ep 24 Guiding Our Girls in their Purpose
37:58Dear Girl Mom, Oh how that infamous question of, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” is ringing in my ears as I consider the topic of today’s episode! Does this question get your daughter excited to dream about all the opportunities before her? Or, does her body tense as anxiety grows and a deer in headlights expression appears across her face? Although we certainly don’t have all the answers, we do know that we are all on this journey together and we need one another! We hope you will find our discussion today uplifting as we find ways to support one another through helping our girls find their purpose in life. Ep 23 Truth and Lies
34:10Dear Girl Mom, From the time our girls were little, we encouraged them to always tell the truth. But many things they are told by our culture today are so far from the Truth! What do we want our girls to know is true compared to what the world tells them is true? On one hand this is a weighty topic. But on the other hand, the answers are so simple. God’s Truth is unfailing and unchanging. It never waivers or fails. Join us today as we discuss certain UN-truths being sold to our daughters by culture, and how we as moms can help them see the Truth. We’re so glad you’re here. Ep 22 Choose Grace: Say No to the Formula
38:42Dear Girl Mom, We are so grateful to have you join us today as we take a step deeper into what it looks like to actively raise our daughters in the faith and love of Jesus Christ, while also fighting against the enemy, Satan, who roams this earth. We will be unpacking a sneaky, and common misconception,(dare I say, LIE) that many of us as moms can find ourselves subconsciously believing. I know I personally found myself prey to this misconception and it’s a message crafted straight from the enemy. Thank you for joining us today as we share more deeply and personally how, in raising our daughters, we are called to choose grace and just say “no” to any kind of formula. Ep 21: Dear Girl AND Boy Mom...Let's Discuss Dating!
51:33Dear Girl Mom, What are your first thoughts when you think about your daughter and dating? This subject can carry a lot of weight and a ton of emotions. We are so excited to tackle this topic today and to welcome two special guests to share their perspective as moms of BOYS! We hope you enjoy this conversation and that it helps answer lots of your own questions when it comes to helping our girls through this season of life. Ep 20 Happy Anniversary!
34:09Dear Girl Mom, Do you like to celebrate milestones? We think that each of us, as moms, LOVE to celebrate each of our daughters’ milestones, not to mention our very own! Nicole and I here at Dear Girl Mom certainly enjoy embracing milestones, and we just had one: We are celebrating our 1 Year anniversary of our DearGirlMom podcast! We hope you will enjoy this episode as we ponder, reflect, and share a bit more deeply just why this milestone is so very worthy of celebration. We pray our story and reflections will bolster and encourage you wherever you are on your motherhood and faith journey. Love, Stacy & Nicole John Eldredge Prayer App
Ep 19 Navigating College and After High School
41:24Dear Girl Mom, When you approach those emotional years just before your daughter graduates from high school, it’s very likely you’re going to experience an extreme range of emotions. Watching our daughters grow up and prepare to begin new lives of their own can cause us to beam with pride while simultaneously dissolve in a puddle of tears. We are right there with you and are currently in the midst of this transition and season with our own daughters. Join us today as we talk about preparing our girls for the next chapter of their lives. Whether you’re an empty nester, a mom of an older teen, or still navigating how to help your daughter find her path, we hope you find hope and encouragement from today’s conversation. Episode 18 Holiday Reflection
40:43Dear Girl Mom, Happy New Year and welcome to 2023! We hope you enjoyed an amazing and joy-filled holiday season as we wrapped up 2022 and made the jump into 2023. While the hope is that each of us enjoyed making wonderful memories over the holidays, we recognize that life isn’t always peaches and cream, unicorns and cupcakes, and all the things that are over-the-top exciting. Many times the holidays hold for us moments of grief, hardship, and even loneliness. In light of all emotions felt, enjoyed, and endured over the holidays, we invite you into an episode where we reflect on our own personal holiday craziness. Allow us to share hope through how we found calm in the crazy, joy in the moments, and peace amidst harried travel. Even as we made mistakes along the way! Likewise, there were even some perfectly absurd gifts given and those stories are bound to provide you with a chuckle or two! May you find, as we do, how the Proverb 17:22 rings true in that “a cheerful heart is good medicine.” We are so happy you are here, welcoming in the new year together with us.
