On today's episode, Jason kicks things off with a few thoughts on the San Francisco 49ers' blowout victory over the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football. We've been saying for weeks that the Niners appear to be a lock to make the NFC Championship game, at a minimum. The running game with Christian McCaffrey and Elijah Mitchell is strong, Jimmy Garoppolo has a plethora of weapons headlined by Deebo Samuel and George Kittle, and the defense is loaded with playmakers like Nick Bosa. Heading into December, the NFC appears to be a three horse race between the Niners, Philadelphia Eagles and the Dallas Cowboys. The AFC, however, is much tougher to call. We can all agree that Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are the favorites, but the Buffalo Bills have played uneven football for weeks, the Cincinnati Bengals have a brutal schedule coming up and the teams like the New York Jets and Los Angeles Chargers aren't even locks to make the playoffs. Unlike the NFC where the top 3 teams are a cut above the rest, the AFC is likely going to come down to playoff seeding. Later, J-Mac does a deep dive into the U.S. Men's National Team's disappointing draw against Wales in the World Cup. The USMNT outplayed Wales throughout the first half (and parts of the second) but had it all come crashing down thanks to a late foul that set up the game-tying goal by Gareth Bale. Given how dominant England looked on Monday, that draw definitely felt like a loss for Team USA.
