In Season 3 Episode 4, I am joined by Evelien-a solo female traveler from Belgium who has been exploring the world for most of her life. Her journey began in childhood with family travels, but it expanded during her college years. After graduating, she embarked on her first solo trip to Mexico, and from that moment on, she was hooked. Realizing that her wanderlust was far from satisfied, Evelien returned home to save up and plan her next adventure. However, the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic nearly stranded her in Colombia for eight months. She decided to return home to wait out the pandemic. After nearly two years of working in Belgium, Evelien set off again, this time for a two-year journey that took her through Latin America, North America, and South Asia. Now back in Belgium, she is working again to save up for future travels and has started an online business, allowing her to work remotely from anywhere in the world. Tune in today! Season 3 is in full swing and we got an awesome Episode 2 for you. Today, Ben aka Ben Books the World hails from Vermont, USA, and has been traveling full-time for 3 years now. Ben's mom is from Germany so he grew up visiting Europe from a young age exposing myself to new cultures and languages. Ben even spent a year living in Germany and going to a public school when he was 13 which opened his perspectives to living in another country. Ben started an online business in high school which then led to him building out his car to do a winter of van life around the USA while working on the computer. Later that year, Ben went to Costa Rica beginning these last 3 years of full-time travel around the world.Throughout these 3 years, Ben has begun traveling more and more to off-the-beaten-path destinations including those that might be considered as unsafe or have a bad portrayal in the media. What Ben's experienced is these have been some of the best and friendliest countries and his goal of his social media is to change the perceptions of travel along with showing how others can begin this journey of traveling on a budget. This takes us to today's episode where Ben dives into traveling within one of the most off-the-beaten-path destination: AFGHANISTAN! Coralee's mom is French and dad is American but she's actually half-South Korean by blood because her mom was adopted to France (even though she's never been to Korea!)After finishing University in Florida, Coralee decided to move to Paris to become an au pair and re-connect with her French roots. Coralee just finished two amazing years in Paris and traveled to 11 new European countries, thanks to the flexibility of being an au pair! She also taught English, did an internship, took French classes, and worked in a cafe part time while au pairing in Paris.Now, Coralee has decided to take a few months to travel around Europe, do a yoga teacher training in Bali, and travel and see family in the U.S. before hopefully moving back to Paris!
