Hours later, the president had a long-awaited virtual meeting with China's President Xi Jinping. The House Select Committee investigating the assault on the Capitol predicts Steve Bannon's indictment will push other witnesses to cooperate. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his ally, the president of Belarus, are being blamed for stoking new tensions in eastern Europe.
