Weekly Shopping Report from Joe

We made our usual Friday trip this week.

I'm still getting energy drinks at Dollar Tree, so that was first; only a few mind you, as I don't consume nearly as much caffeine now that I am retired.  They seemed pretty busy, with two checkout lines open instead of the usual one.

Aldi was next and last.  They had some wet cat food this week, so we grabbed a case (24 cans).  Eggs are still marked limit 2.  There were a couple of price drops.  Staple prices were: bread (20 oz. white): $1.39; eggs: $2.97 (+); whole milk: $3.03; heavy cream: $5.39; OJ: $3.45; butter: $3.99; bacon: $3.99; potatoes: $3.29; sugar: $2.69 (-); flour: $1.79 (-); and 80% lean ground beef: $4.29.

I did check the online price of a 2x4x8 at Home Depot, and it is still $3.85.

A gallon of untainted regular gasoline remains at $3.599.
